How to Create New FTP Account in Bluehost

1. Access the FTP Manager

These steps will explain how to access the FTP Manager.

  • Login to your Bluehost cPanel
  • Click the “hosting” link at the top of the account
  • Click the “cpanel” link at the top
  • In the “File Management” section click on “FTP Manager

 

2. Create a new FTP account

Once you have accessed the FTP Manager these steps will explain how to create an FTP account.

1. Under the “ADD FTP Account” section enter a Username:

  • Please note that the username will automatically have your domain added to the end. Example: [email protected]

2. Eter a very Strong Password. Random Letters, Numbers and Special Symbols work best. 

3. In the Directory field, cPanel will auto-populate an assumed directory based on the FTP username, but that is incorrect. Erase everything after public_html

4. Click the “Create FTP Account” button

 

3. Send us FTP Connection Settings

FTP connections require 3 entries to successfully connect.

  • Domain name:
  • Username:
  • Password:

 

How to Create New FTP Account in Hostgator

To create new FTP account in Hostgator:

  1. Log into cPanel
  2. In the Files section, click FTP Accounts.
  3. In the Login field, type the name of the FTP user. A full FTP user name will always be formatted as [email protected]
  4. In the Password fields, enter a strong password.
  5. In the Directory field, cPanel will auto-populate an assumed directory based on the FTP username, but that is incorrect. Erase everything after public_html.
  6. Click Create.

 

How to Create New FTP Account in Godaddy

To create new FTP account in Godaddy:

  1. Log into your Account Manager.
  2. Click Web Hosting.
  3. Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Manage.
  4. From the Settings section, click FTP Users.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Enter the Username for the new FTP user.
  7. Enter a strong Password.
  8. Enter Path to the directory where your site is located. If you are not sure in which directory your site is located, leave empty.
  9. Click OK.

 

How to Create New FTP Account in Siteground

Login to your cPanel / Hosting account.

Click on FTP accounts Button

Click on the FTP Accounts icon from the Files box of your cPanel (cPanel is accessible at yourdomain.com/cpanel).

On the top of the page you will be prompted for all the necessary details for a new FTP user:

  1. Login: Enter user name
  2. Password: Enter a strong password
  3. Directory has to be set to: public_html. cPanel will auto-populate an assumed directory based on the FTP username, but that is incorrect. Erase everything after public_html
  4. Click the Create button

Scroll down a bit, find your newly created FTP user and click on the Configure FTP Client link.

  • Login into your cPanel
  • Scroll down to the Files section
  • Click on FTP Accounts icon

As first comes Add FTP Accounts box. Add new FTP user here.

Copy then content of the box, add FTP password of the account you have created and send it to us.
